Apple Concepts are getting to repetitive these days so its great to see some Nokia indulgence. What
we have here is the Nokia Lumia 999 Concept and it features a 4.3″ screen. Details include hardware
buttons are pressure sensitive (not capacitive) and you can’t push it mechanically. The use of alumi
-num and return to the old Lumia design line offers a more symmetrical look. What do you think?
This clever gadget, called Activ, makes it possible to harness the kinetic energy created by your own
body! The personal electricity generator was designed to be worn on the knee- with each step, it juices
up the battery a little more. After it’s full, just attach a USB cord directly to Activ to power your cell
phone or other device. Instead of plugging into the wall… plug into you!
Canadian design firm Hired Guns Creative have conceived the packaging design for Coven,
a vodka fromArbutus Distillery,Vancouver Island’s newest craft distillery. “Cloaked in the
heavy mists of the West Coast, a timeless rite enchants those who seek a greater spirit. Initiation
requires strict dedication to the craft. There is power in numbers, so gather together because when
the light fades, the ritual begins.” Inspired by witchcraft, the bottle is characterized by a white elegant
label with a wicked glow-in-the-dark overprint that shows illustrations of witches when the lights
are turned off~
If it weren’t functional at all, I’d still be in love with the look of the Ois Espresso Cup. But it is. So I do
even more. Its fine bone china nestles perfectly into the tropical wood saucer to stabilize the cup so
you can move with it…. and what good is coffee if you can’t take it with you?

I recently read about how Tim Cook is feeling the heat about innovation from his Directors, so maybe
this concept iPhone 5S will help. It proposes changing the home button to a camera, which can also
act as a fingerprint scanner with a software support. What you can do is then assign your most used
app a finger and just swipe it over the front camera (even when the phone is locked) and activate that
app. For example, get to your emails by simply swiping your index finger over the front camera.
The back camera can be used for page scrolling – read your tweets with just one hand! What I really
find interesting is the elimination of the 3.5 earphone jack and using the lightning connector adapter
spot. The concept also shortens the height of iPhone 5S from 123.83 mm to 108 mm~
Some really forward thinking ideas that maybe Ive and his team can use!

Can noise ever be sweet? Yes, only if it’s routed through the Music Yue – noise converter device. The
idea behind this project is to transform everyday noise pollution to something more soothing. Imagine
living near the railway tracks or on a busy street and having to live with those track noises and blaring
horns! The Music Yue simply detects a recurring rhythm and transforms it into a pleasing tune.
Imginative and something we urbanites could do with!
Music Yue is a 2013 Electrolux Design Lab semi finalist.

A new twist to the old Stackable Cup, this new Tilt Cup has a clipped edge that enhances drying.
When you place the glass upside down, the water trickles and drains out through the gap created
by the clipped edge. The tilted angle also enhances the weight balance so the cup can stand up by
itself when overturned. I think this will work!
Ok slight deviation, this time it’s the wheels of a cycle and the value proposition is of course technical!
The Charging Clip integrates a battery pack that can harness energy from the moving spokes of a cycle.
What you need to do is clip the device to the cycle spoke and let physics and engineering take over. The
drill is simple; you ride your bike, tank up the device and then juice your phone. So very easy!

It’s not at all what you imagine a teapot looking like, and that’s exactly what’s so cool about the
Quattro! The vertical, rectangular design makes pouring and transporting a cinch thanks to its
beautifully simple, yet highly functional handle that also acts as a base. Just tip it to poor, or
reverse the base to the upwards position to carry it around!
The Feeling Mouse, designed specifically for the hearing impaired, appeals to the user’s tactile senses
to emphasize the all-important “click” that’s crucial in operating the device. When the user presses
down on the mouse, raised bumps slightly protrude through designated holes where the user’s fingers
rest to signal the “click.” It’s a simple solution, but incredibly useful for those missing out on this subtle
queue~
