Showcased at salone satellite during milan design week 2013, Japanese design studio YOY have
presented a series of objects that enhance storage space. ’book’ is a book-shaped flower pot that
can be used independently or as a divider. made using PVC for waterproofing, the addition opens
from the cover page to stand upright - exposing the soil and roots. ’extend’, the bookend extension
can be fixed to a tabletop by clamping to its underside - giving the effect that the supported books
are floating. similar to ’extend’, ’protrude’ provides a similar balancing effect. instead, the tray works
to open desk space - accommodating items such as coffee cups and other stationary office supplies~
