Umbrellas have needed a redesign for the longest time now.  During heavy rains, even the strongest 

umbrellas just can’t protect you with water rushing down from different angles.  We don’t know if this 

is the redesign to finally fix that problem, but the Rainshader does seem like it might prove more use

-ful for those situations. Shaped like a giant motorcycle helmet, the uniquely-designed umbrella offers 

equal rain protection from the top, back, and sides.  More than an umbrella, it’s like walking with a 

portable tent on a stick, holding you inside its protective walls as the torrent of rain continues to 

pour heavily around it~

Based on traditional Japanese bento boxes, Metaphys’ Ojue is a super stylish Lunch Box Set.

I’m totally trademarking that name BTW! Separating egg whites from the yolk can take some serious 

skill! That is… unless you have this modern whisk by Ivan Zhang. By slightly modifying the shape with

a circular indention, the whisk catches the yolk, allowing the white to drip down. The whisk can then 

be used as normal to beat the eggs or stir your mixture. It makes separating effortless and better yet, 

keeps your hands clean of egg goo!

After showing you Torque table, we get back to SaloneSatellite in the spaces of iSaloni 2013 to 

introduce another project exhibited at Design Soil stand, “Water Balance”, the flower vase created 

by Japanese designer Risako Matsumoto. A furnishing complement with simple design, a wooden 

structure in white ash wood characterized by two stainless steel elements, a vial container placed 

on one side and a sliding weight on the opposite side, components able to balance the structure 

using the principle of the levers, maintaining, until the appropriate time, a perfect balance. An 

elegant solution than through a simple and at the same time fascinating operation is capable of 

giving life to a wall vase that visually communicates the need for water in an intuitive way~
