The state of the world economy has been shaky since the global recession in 2008, leaving many people 

jobless and many were even forced out of their homes due to mortgage woes. Consumerist as we are, the 

economic crisis appears to be heightened when we find that we cannot afford the same luxuries that we 

could when the inflow of money was smoother. To highlight the severity of personal economic meltdown 

and just how depressing and overwhelming the current economic climate is, designer Sebastian Errazuriz 

has created the Drowning in Debt Salt and Pepper Shaker Set~

The set features an office worker with his work briefcase inside the shaker itself, commenting on the 

direness of the current global economic climate and how badly it affects the lives of the workers 

working at the grassroots levels in multinational companies. As the salt and pepper is consumed, 

the workers emerge from the salt or pepper that symbolize debt or unemployment only to be 

flooded by it once again when the shakers are refilled.

California-based company Glad may specialize in dustbin liners and food storage containers, but they 

recently unveiled a brilliant one-person trash bag tent for camping, music festivals and other outdoor 

events. The concept was launched at the SXSW 2013 music festival in Austin, Texas, where tents were 

distributed to campers and festival attendees on the condition that they would use them after the festi

-val as garbage receptacles for cleaning up their campsite~

Glad tents are conceived as a simple and efficient solution for the vast quantities of garbage left behind 

after big music festivals. Made from a stretchy and durable material, they are meant to be used as single

precisely why Angeleno designer Brett Clouser started this unique line of reflective cycling wear. Unlike 

standard neons, this minimalist jacket is savvy enough to wear out socially. It also collapses into a com

-pact pouch, making it easy to store in your pocket. A reflective application on the jacket shines light 

directly back to its source, making it almost 400% more reflective and easier for drivers to see cyclists~

The Angel Faucet is specifically meant for those folks who have lost an arm. Apparently stats show 

that folks with this kind of impairment find it difficult to wash their hand properly. The sensor-acti

-vated tap is integrated with a scrubbing pad that allows you to scrub and clean the single hand 

effectively. The pad is made with soft silicon, and can be removed for cleaning. The flow of water 

through the tap stops when the user moves their hand away from the faucet outlet to the scrubb

-ing pad~
