Eyewear in perfect harmony

Written by topgear. Posted in Cool Accessories, Ideal Life

The right pair of specs are all about balance and FLEYE’s premier design has got the solution nailed!

Sure the eyewear is attractive, but the magic is in the adjustable nose pads affixed to a single piece of

flexible titanium thread that gracefully loops through the nose bridge. It’s strong, durable and accen

-tuates the aesthetic of the glasses with colors that match the style of the frame. Genius!

Reflective clothing for the modern cyclist

Written by topgear. Posted in Ideal Life, New Technology

In Los Angeles, its not uncommon to hear horror stories about cyclists in motor accidents, which is

precisely why Angeleno designer Brett Clouser started this unique line of reflective cycling wear. Unlike

standard neons, this minimalist jacket is savvy enough to wear out socially. It also collapses into a com

-pact pouch, making it easy to store in your pocket. A reective application on the jacket shines light

directly back to its source, making it almost 400% more reflective and easier for drivers to see cyclists~

Destruction Watch

Written by topgear. Posted in Gadget, Ideal Life

The Digital Destruction Watch is a good analogy for how old has to make way for the new. The watch features

a face where the analog dial seems to have been destroyed by the elements and made way for the digital era.

Measuring a nifty 38 mm in diameter, the timepiece is good for both men and women. Specs include a digital

LCD screen, time in a military style 24 hour format, a crown button that switches between time, second, and

date modes, as well as activate the back light~

One-hand washing

Written by topgear. Posted in Ideal Life, New Technology

The Angel Faucet is specifically meant for those folks who have lost an arm. Apparently stats show

that folks with this kind of impairment find it difficult to wash their hand properly. The sensor-acti

-vated tap is integrated with a scrubbing pad that allows you to scrub and clean the single hand

effectively. The pad is made with soft silicon, and can be removed for cleaning. The flow of water

through the tap stops when the user moves their hand away from the faucet outlet to the scrubb

-ing pad~

Angel is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Flat tire warning light

Written by topgear. Posted in Electronic, New Technology

Wouldn’t it be a boon if you had a system that told you about your upcoming flat tire? I’m not talking

about some random card-pulling session but a proper system like the Flat Tire Warning Light. The de

-vice combines a Tire Pressure Sensor, LED Technology and Vibration Generation Chip to tell you in

advance that a flat tire is coming your way. Get ready!

Modified Coat Hanger

Written by topgear. Posted in Cool Toys, Home

Modified coat hanger is the one of a series of objects restructured through modification and change.

Since the structural detail of the cut part functions as a hook, it can be used directly to hang the clothes~

cubic houses

Written by topgear. Posted in Creative World, Home

These buildings were the first cubic houses in Holland, a country better known for its beautiful

spindly buildings that tower above passers-by. The concept behind this unusual design was to

create a living roof in which people could have sufficient space in an area of high density housing.

After three test versions the “woonwoud” (living woods) were finally built in the area of Helmond,

arranged around the Theater ‘t Speelhuis. Now one of the houses remains unoccupied so that visit

-ors can take a look and get a feel for the unconventional use of interior space~

simple playing cards

Written by topgear. Posted in Gadget, Ideal Life

IOTA is a deck of regulation playing cards by Joe Doucet that dallies with the idea: how much you

can take away while still maintaining a playable deck? Simple geometric symbols are reductive ver

-sions of hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades.  While it is necessary to mark the back of regulation

playing cards, Joe’s done so with a minimal diagonal line instead of the overly ornamental versions

used at your granny’s bridge club. LOVE. So. Much.

Refined Crossing

Written by topgear. Posted in Electronic, New Technology

The Glass Sign is a solar powered pedestrian crossing that is quite funky. The sign stays mostly off and

when a pedestrian needs to use it, they just swipe the signal pole to activate the light. The duration of

the signal depends upon the width of the road to be crossed. I love the awesome glow-red-effect the

lamp has on for the night~
